3d accelerator issue (SOLUTION)

Go to STEAM folder, SteamApps/Common/Syberia

Right click game. Compatability Settings. Change to 8-bit colour mode SELECT Change Settings for ALL Users (important) then select 8 bit there to. Click Apply , run game.

Do the same with Post Mortem or any other games from this company from this era.

Thank you this was very helpful! I have a couple differences for mine so I'll add it here in case anyone has the same set up I do.

After you right click game.exe choose "Troubleshoot Compatability". Choose "Troubleshoot program". Select the best answer for the next two choices (I don't know also works fine) then choose the option "Error message says the program needs to run in 256 colors or 8 bit color mode" (yes even if you got the 3D error). Test it and it should run.

Thank you spookylita for adding your fix. It sent me down the right path but I think I initially answered the questions wrong for my setup, so I had to try a second time using different responses.

For others who come along after me and run Windows 10, if the fix doesn't work the first time, try answering the questions: (1) that the issue wasn't listed, then (2) that the program used to run in Windows XP but doesn't run now. After that, it should give the option to select "Error message says the program needs to run in 256 colors or 8 bit color mode." Select that and allow the troubleshooter to test it.

The 3d rendering engine could not be initialized error

HI everyone,
I tried 1000 options, only one work for me
Gtx1050ti
windows10
My FIX

and download
Latest stable version
- for regular usage
It will download latest version in my case dgVoodoo2_75_1 .
it will be zip.exe file, unpack it
2. In the folder dgVoodoo2_75_1
find folder MS, go to X86, and copy all Dll files into the main game folder(where Game.exe is)
3. in the folder dgVoodoo2_75_1
find folder 3Dfx, go to X86, and copy all the Glide.dll into the main game folder.
4. Start Game.exe in the game folder.(the first time it might not start perfect, exit the game)
5. In my case windows propose automatic configuration after i exited the game, i click yes)
the next start it went adjusted perfect. i hope it helps, i spend 3 house, trying changing the setting in game.exe and all other options.
