Syberia

Syberia

Syberia doesn't work on Mac
Hello.
I have a Mac. I bought Syberia I and II but sadly doesn´t work.
Freezes on start, can't move the cursor, I can't advance to the Microids logo as soon as the music starts playing.
I already checked if the download was successful. I already restarted the mac. I have already checked if I have any application preventing the game from running. Nothing worked.
I'm disappointed and I don't see how I can ask for a refund.
For my first experience, it was too bad.

You can try running it using the development build of SCUMMVM (2.8.0) (or wait until it's released into the main branch)

As you're on a Mac already, you shouldn't need to do the trick of forcing Steam to download the Mac version of the game (Only WIndows/Linux users have to do this).

can get more info from the SCUMMVM wiki page:

I already installed the SCUMMVM but I can't add the game because I can't find where it is on my Mac.
On STEAM I see when I click right and ask to show where but I don't know exactly to add the game.
Thank you for helping me

In steam you right click the game in the menu and go to: Manage -> Browse local files.

You'll then be in the location of the game's files. Assuming you downloaded the development/nightly build of SCUMMVM.. you can then point it to the path\location and add the game.. and should then be able to run it.

I tried to follow what you guided me but I was unsuccessful.
I didn't give up but I'm going to have to.
I can't see what's missing or what I'm doing wrong.
Thank you very much for all your help, but it is to learn not to spend money impulsively without checking whether it is immediate.

You can probably ask on SCUMMVM forums and might find someone who speaks Portuguese to explain better.

To locate the game files on a Mac Open the Steam client and go to your Library.
Right click on the title of the game then hover over ‘Manage’ and click on ‘Browse local files’ in the fly-out menu.
This should open the folder in the finder where the game is.
Copy the syberia.app file/folder to wherever you want it on your hard drive. Then open SCUMMVM and add the game. If SCUMM won’t add the game try selecting the Contents folder inside the siberia.app in the add game folder.

Alternately you can click the ‘Go’ menu in the finder and choose ‘Go to Folder…’ at the bottom (Shift+Command+G) . Type in Users/YOUR USERNAME/Library/Application Support/Steam/steamapps/common

Your Steam games are stored in that folder.

best thing to do is install Windows via Bootcamp, it is very easy, you just need a cd key which you can buy online for a few euros, and you download an iso file from the microsoft page. you can find bootcamp under UTILITIES. on mac startup you hold the option key and you can choose to run windows. that's how i play on my mac all the games that don't run under macOS
