Oscars Legs - hour saving tip (no real spoiler)

Just a handy tip.
When you are going to make Oscars legs.
Save a game when you first get to the control panel.
When you have made his legs correctly you will get a zoomed out cut scene of a big bird mouth grabbing some wood.
If you don't see this reload your game and try again.
Otherwise your are going to give Kate buns of steel as she traverses a zillion stairs.

if you read the valadilene brochure you learn automatons are made with ebony from madagascar , it even shows you the colour of the wood so you can solve with ease this puzzle

I figured out the ebony, got a red light and number 3 active on control panel, inserted Oscar's card- do I need to get the other five red lights lit? Even with the ebony selected nothing was happening- so what am I missing (perhaps just a hint)

I figured the picture of the wood in the brochure was the normal wood, because ebony is a very dark (often even black) type of hardwood (google ebony wood on google images or look up ebony on wikipedia), so I was trying the darkest ones even though somehow I needed the lightest wood they had on offer
