Black screen at launch

I'm on Win 10. I launch the game I can see the 2 intro videos and then a black screen.
I already tried many things )=

Hello,

Just bought the game, I also have black screen at launch.
I noticed I have two windows when the games launches, so I just close the second one, and get back in the first one and it works fine. Hope it works for you too !

I just replaced my 1080 monitor with a 1440 one and got the same issue. On the previous the game would just start in 800x600 with blackness on each side but now it technically starts (I get audio) but I can't see anything. I got it to work in windowed mode but whatever I do it doesn't work in full screen. Closing the second window that opens didn't help :(

Sorry I have not posted my solution yet.

For me what did the trick was to set the compatibility mode to windows 98 / ME on both executables.

I had to try way too many fix ...

Many people are saying that setting the compatibility mode to an older system works, but when i follow their directions steam>steamapps>common R. click on Syberia folder, Properties my only tabs are General, Sharing, Security, Prev. Versions and Customize. I have no compatibility tab. Not sure how to get around this. I have Windows 10 AIO from Lenovo

as far as i know the game wont even start if the desktop resolution is higher than 1920x1080, so setting the desktop resolution to 1920x1080 might solve the issue, plus compatibility settings and stuff. Im not 100% sure though, but i seem to remember having similar issues with the gog version.

+1 running on Ubuntu Linux, 1920x1080 Intel graphics.

For me what fixed it was to set 'Run in 640x480 screen resolution' on Game.exe. Go to the folder you have installed Siberia in under Steam, right click the Game.exe file --> properties --> Compatibility tab --> Under settings toward the bottom click the checkbox for this setting --> Apply / OK. Then when I started it I had sound and visual. Hope helps someone.

I followed pinned fix. I set my game on win7 and it runs fine. I did not change my desktop resolution.

I had the same issue. Changed in properties (Windows 7 and 640x480). I could not find the Game.exe so did a search to bring it up to change the properties.
