- download WineD3DForWindows_1.7.52.zip from https://fdossena.com/?p=wined3d/index.frag
- unpack ddraw.dll, libwine.dll and wined3d.dll into the game's folder;
- untick all compatibility flags for game.exe and syberia.exe if they are exist;
- if exists delete player.ini from the game's folder;
- run the game from Steam.
Workss! (funciona)
Where exactly is the game's folder ??
It works perfectly. Thank you so much, we really appreciate your help
HD:\Steam\SteamApps\Common\Syberia
However, this DirectDraw wrapper still works in 2024 with a modern Radeon (and possibly GeForces of course) on Win 10 for Syberia 1:
https://github.com/narzoul/DDrawCompat/releases
-> Just copy the ddraw.dll into the Syberia folder, nothing else needs to be done.
It even works with bigger resolutions like 1440p and 4K
This fixes:
"The 3D Rendering Engine Could Not Be Initialized"
and also
"No available 3d accelerator"
without the need to change any compatibility settings and config file edits and whatnot
Thank you so much, it was so helpful and also so easy to do. Now i can play my game.
Bless you :)
Yep, works on Windows 11 4k (3840x2160) displays too.
Thank you so much :*
