Yeah...sorry. I've tried almost everything at this point involving Compatibility. Run it in Windows XP Service Pack 2, 3, Windows 7...nada. Even ran it in the resolution listed above and it just does not work. I'm running this game on a laptop and not a PC computer, so that might be my problem, there.
Okay so I did the same thing with the syberia.exe golder, and all the game founder logos came up normally (albeit different than the originals), but then the screen minimalized to a black box in the corner and the syberia executable stopped wrking. weird.
I said I did that. It won't work.
Check my topic, I have error by my monitor. Maybe the same with you
- download WineD3DForWindows_1.7.52.zip from https://fdossena.com/?p=wined3d/index.frag
- unpack ddraw.dll, libwine.dll and wined3d.dll into the game's folder;
- untick all compatibility flags for game.exe and syberia.exe if they are exist;
- if exists delete player.ini from the game's folder;
- run the game from Steam.
Well, this time the screen became completely black and is now saying the Syberia Executable has stopped working after I followed your instructions. Wierd.
It is a small tool, you just copy paste the needed .dll files and it wrappes the game render to be playable in newer hardware. It works with DirectX1 until DirectX8, also many 3DFX games, like the Need for Speed series (1,2,3,4,5 and 6 in this case).
It comes with a nice tool to configure it's options. But I highly recommend to not go past 1600x900 resolution due the fact those games barely had any detail to begin with, all looks too bland at higher resolutions xD (You can go up to 4K if you wish).
Anyways, here is the link:

Also, my settings for this game alongside this tool:
General Tab
Output : Direct 3D 11 (Feature level 10.1)
Adapter : My GPU, it will show yours here
Display : Default
Appearance : Fullscreen
Scaling Mode: Stretched
DirectX Tab
VideoCard: DGVoodoo 3D Accelerated Card
Vram: 64Mb
Resolution : 1600x900 (16:9)
AntiAliasing : 4X
Filtering : Anisotropic 16X
All else I left at it's default choices.
Fell free to message me if you need help setting this up.
Got this game at GoG, and I use this tool with a bunch of other old games it has.
Heck, I'm playing Slave Zero from 1999 on my Win10 thanks to this tool xD
This is a DX game, so copy the dlls from the MS folder to where the Syberia executable is.
Y'know...maybe getting it from GOG is the way to go. I've followed your instructions and copied the appropriate .dll files, but its still being problematic. I will say this though...I was not able to set the resolution to 1600x900...so maybe that's posing a problem? I followed a comment above nd copied the.dll files they listed, but am I supposed to copy them all into the games folder? Also, do I move .dll files into the DLL folder or do you just place them in the Syberia folder?
