How to get one of the projects rlly early?
I remember once being able to get I think was project borehole rlly early and was able to export a lot of rare earth materials in early game. I forgor how I did It so I was wondering if any of you lot knew.

1. There's an early story bit, where you can get a 50% research discount on the mohole mine. Sure, the remaining RPs would be about 10k, but you can get that through sponsor rewards or with milestones (simply cheese the workshop one).

2. Alternatively, some of the easier mysteries can be completed rather quickly, and you may get the mohole mine technology as a reward (or just save-scum for it).

Getting the 300 machine parts for it early on is of course a wholly different matter.

IIRC the Chaos Theory game option completely randomize tech order, so the tree end-projects could show very early instead. That may be what you were thinking of.

Its a story bit that can only be triggered in the Sols before you bring any colonists to Mars.
Its pretty rare but quite OP when you get it. Once you bring Colonists to Mars it can no longer trigger.

It will unlock one of a choice of Wonders, the Mohole included, and reduce the research by 50%, it can still take quite a while to research it that early aswell as import enough machine parts, but it can for sure change up a game.

I remember at the beginning of pretty much every single play through I got a pop up that let me choose one of 3 projects. One of the being more hole. Other one being some solar thing that idk what the benefits where

That's the story bit I've mentioned, called "Leap Forward". It gives you a discount on one of the wonder technologies of your choosing:

- Project Mohole. (Reveal Project Mohole, Project Mohole research cost reduced by 50%)
- Dream Reality. (Reveal Dream Reality, Dream Reality research cost reduced by 50%)
- Micro Fusion. (Reveal Micro Fusion, Micro Fusion research cost reduced by 50%

This usually means that the project will now cost 10K RP, which makes it somewhat reasonable to get early on.

Do note that it's not as great as you might think. The mohole mine needs 300 machine parts, and that's 5.400 in cash if you want to buy them (or even more if you have the inflation game rule enabled). This is a far more serious hurdle than the 10K RP. You should choose a very rich sponsor like the US.

@Helimopp - there is a chance but one may get a different event instead of it and after a while there are no more pre-founder stage events left (at least of those that trigger by time). Don't try to indefinitely delay your colonists while waiting for it ^^'
