You can alter your PC's display tint if that bothers you in the control panel of your GPU.
You could terraform the planet and then its green.
There is a mod called Surviving Moon, which changes the base game into a moon colony builder, so its black and white and some things dont work like wind turbines. Its not compatible with the latest version of the game though.
You can build a mod and begin playing with color pallets. I havent tried to change the terrain color pallets before but I know its possible. You can peek at the Surviving Moon mod and see what the commands he used in there were to change everything to black and white and just alter things that way.
That's is kinda what I did as a temporary fix while waiting for replies! Thank you for mentioning it! Fortunately my monitor has a colour blind mode setting which made it dark dirt brown (more bareable to look at) but it also gives all of the other game objects a brown tint so it a temporary fix for now.
How do I do this? Do I need the green planet DLC? I just bought the base game yesterday and am still in the tutorial. I'm waiting to see if it is fun before commiting to participate in the - predictable Paradox DLC practices - for this game.
Not willing to try any base game mechanics changing mods yet.
Thank you I will do this. Not very techy person but if I manage to do it I will for sure release it in the workshop.
Thanks again for helping out!
I do hope you manage to solve your problem, and if you do and you enjoy the base game, I would recommend the Green Planet DLC, but like I said, even with it you still spend a lot of your game time with your screen covered with dust and sand.
That Surviving Moon mod uses code from my ECM mod to paint it. I'd like to say I stuck it in a stand alone mod, but I can't remember the name...
Edit: It's not standalone, you'd have to install ecm and use Menu>Game>Terrain>change terrain or remap terrain
Можно поставить мод из мастерской назание Surviving Moon очень приятный цвет планеты не раздражает глаз .
Play it at your own risk if it even start up with it.
