Waste Rock...
My 200+ "sol" colony now has over 17K of waste rock! It is stacked everywhere. Atmospheric processors (5) cant burn it fast enough. I can fill in a crater but it uses like 50-60...

I have a mohole Mine, a concrete excavator, assorted water pumps feeding lakes, etc.

I am building "rock pile" art wherever I can but still it just keeps going up...

The worst part is the buildings now stop working if I don't take it away!

Any ideas before I go find a mod for this?

There is a tech in Engineering. Waste Rock Liquefaction. It unlocks Waste Rock Processors which turn Waste Rock into Concrete. It always appear around the 14-19th slot.

I found that 4x liquid rock processors kept it under 10k and also solved my concrete problems.

Or just terraform! You can extend a mountain somewhere to really use it up.

Large dumping sites hold more for their space than making large rocks out of them. If you set them to try to get maxed out then shuttles and any drones in range will try to move the waste rock to those piles automatically.

Or just put it to work slowly turning the map into a high-elevation parking lot.

Thanks for the suggestions!

But, I have 900 hours in this game and am aware of everything mentioned ;-)

I just have not run into the buildings stopping and being forced to move the waste rock to a dump site before? I normally don't build a dump until I have the liquidation tech and need a place store it for use..

I like a long game and take my time researching the wonders and getting them built. Then I like to design another base on the map for my colony to move into... Just the way I play, 250-350 or more sols are not unusual for me!

That is a LOT of waste to move and the dumps sites are getting HUGE!, several drone hubs in a chain to move the rocks and/or shuttles constantly flying back and forth..

not fun...

I would be ok with it if it took a couple of hundred or even thousand to fill a crater with the new earth leveling dozer, but 50?

Oh well, mod time i guess....

Just make one of them surrounded by waste rock processors and set it to request max amount. Then let the shuttles bring all the waste rock to it from other dumps.
It'll go eventually. Then you'll have more concrete than you'll know what to do with especially with the concrete excavator (seriously don't both with this wonder when you have waste rock liquefaction).

yea, that may be the way to go here.....

you could build large rock formations which are found in the landscaping section and then when completed salvage them leading to 125 waste rock being deleted

There are many buildings that use waste rock. Waster rock processor is obviously the first one that comes to my mind cuz its "easy" to research at that point. Then if you are lucky to get the global support breaktrhoug, there are also other two buildings that use waste rock to produce rare metals and other thing i cant remember anymore. But what i do basically is to paste two or three waster rock processors until the waste rock is depleted and i turn em off. And so on.

And since we dont have any mod (that actually works) that makes transports to automatically gather waste rock into depots, i usually leave all that lose waste rock without stocking it. After many runs, you just dont care anymore... :p
