Insufficient power when there's surplus?

I think it's possible due to battery max output rates. You can have lots of excess power but batteries can only release it so fast.

Building priorities will ensure some buildings will have power over others.

Probably split power grid.

His batteries are full and he is producing extra power.

If that grid is split then there would be a HUGE amount of power lost.

I have seen a similar issue with water inside domes.

As you can see I have plenty of water. The issue is very similar to yours.

Just curious - do you have any isolated power supplies providing discrete loads? For example, concrete extractors powered by solar panels and not connected to your regular grid.

There is nothing wrong with his electrical power grid. The casino itself is bugged. We can stop making assumptions the OP did something wrong.

Most likely it is bugged because he terraformed underneath that dome. Then for some reason the game has decided since the elevation does not match exactly the buildings receive no water or power.

See how the icons are half buried? That is because the flatten tool is a smoothing tool. So it leaves crap like those half buried icons around. Also if you try to build the capital you can see the same effect where patches of the dome disappear underground.

I had the same issue and elevation was tip-top.
Solved by salvaging and building the structure again (at the same spot at that).
A nasty bug if it happens with some of the expensive structures.
~Cheers.

Did you do any flattening under the dome of the building that bugged?

I did.

I can confirm that the terrain was, indeed, flattened prior to dome building.
I can confirm, also, that there was no split grid, all my stuff are in one huge overly redundant, grid. Even my faraway automated rare metal extractors are on the grid, with redundancies.
I can confirm, once more with feeling, that all batteries were maxed out and I was still in surplus state of power.

I had a simmilar issue, somehow salvation during paused game (5s timer until demolishion) and then aborting salvation fixed the issue and the building was reconnected.

I'm guessing English isn't your first language because salvation does not mean what you think it means, but I absolutely see where the logic lies in thinking that it does. Gave me a bit of a wry chuckle seeing an example of just how inconsistently English vocabulary follows patterns while resulting in a humorous usage of a word given the context.

The word you want to use is salvaging.

The supply shown in the picture is an aggregate for your whole colony. The fact that the casino isn't drawing from your batteries (stored = max storage) suggests you have more power grids than you think (and that the dome isn't on the one with your batteries). Bring up the colony management tool from the bottom of your screen and click power grids. If you have more than one, you already know there's a problem. clicking on each will highlight them and you can see where you need to join up your cabling. If it says you have one power grid and the casino isn't drawing from your batteries, you should report it as a bug.

The OP and most of the thread is over 1.5 years old.

And yet this bug is still happening lol. I use fusion reactors with the eternal fusion upgrade (no need of workers) and despite having about 400 surplus power and dozens of accumulators i keep getting buildings with not enough power. Ridiculous. If you turn that building off and on again, it fixes itself, but it happens again later. Honestly this is a really game breaking bug because you need to keep switching off and on buildings all the time. Why this game has so many bugs at this point escapes me. Why developers cant do things right as a basic rule these days escapes me.

I dont have any idea why this happens. Mods? the only different thing i did was to start using fusion reactors early on, and avoid regular accumulators (only atomic ones). Maybe the games goes crazy if you dont use any normal accumulator?

And btw the fact is that you shouldnt be in need of ANY accumulator if you are already producing more power than you need.

And i know, this is a necro post. But i rather keep it alive since nothing was resolved than open a new thread with the same thing.
