Tutorial - power cables not working
Is there something non-obvious about how power cables should work? In the basic tutorial I place a concrete extractor, then a Stirling Generator. The I'm instructed to connect them via power cables. I select power cables from the build menu, click on the generator, then click on the extractor. In both cases, I click on the building itself. A cable is built, but no power is supplied. Any advice? Funny to be stuck right in the the tutorial part 1, but I've run it 5 times with different placements and the same result - no power.

You click a hex next to the buildings to start the cables not on the building itself. If placed right you will see a black wire leading from the building to the cable.

Yes, I've tried that, I see the cable connecting the two grids, but still no power

Have the same problem randomly with one of my water extractors. It's definitely connected, but shows to receive no power. My batteries are still quite full.

Has the cable actually been built from metal? Drones need to approach the building sites to actually set things up, and then they also need to be able to reach the resources needed for them. Prefabs are omnipresent, drones don't need to grab them, but cables don't come with prefabs.

It was the feeding limit of the batteries. They each can give off 20 energy, meaning i just ran out of that limit.

Can you post a screenshot of the problem?
