No.

Fusion Reactor with Eternal Fusion breakthrough upgrade = OP.

They are especially op if you use the Triboelectric Scrubbers and occupy all the area with them

Thats still not enough to power everything

How the Sterlings don't need maintenence as long as you keep them closed is really nice, but I generally find them a bit too pricey compared with solar or wind.

Guess the small footprint to power ratio is pretty nice, too, but that seems like a less important detail now that landscaping is a thing.

Stirling is great due to not needing maintenance (except the occasional meteor). If your industries are set up, you can keep putting more down. I would not call them OP, due to how much resources they need, and as was said, Fusion gives WAY more power when set up.

I think Stirlings are just a little overpowered, but their cost makes them nearly balanced. I do like Stirlings a lot, though, since you can just plug'n'play.

I get most my power from Nuclear Fusion even if I don't get Eternal Fusion. Colonists are really, really cheap to produce. A Fusion Reactor produces about 3x the power for the area at a third the cost.

Though it does depend a bit on sponsor and map. A sponsor which can easily afford a lot of advanced resources like Blue Sun or SpaceY, I might just use Stirlings.

No, they're very costly in the early game, later they're better than other sources of power but not necessarily OP as you're investing advanced resources in them.

wouldn'T widn turbines with the Scrubber be more op? but then maybe only because i had the breakthrough for no friction ^^.

I think the true op-ness is the Scrubber because it entirely removes the maintenance for these buildings.

If anything, Sterling engines are underpowered,

Sterling Engines are the least efficient power generator in terms of resources used. For the price of the resources of a Sterling (240 M$), you can get ~13 machine parts, which gets you 4 wind turbines (providing the same power) plus 9 left for maintenance.

This gets even worse once you produce your own advanced resources, as it takes about 50% more mandays to produce electronics than machine parts.

Fusion power is more efficient in land use. Sterlings are only useful if you're both short on manpower and land space.

That's still not enough to power everything

I've been powering everything using Fusion Reactors with Eternal Fusion, 4 of them put out more power than the Artificial Sun and can be clustered around two scrubbers to make them just as maintenance free as a closed Stirling Generator... Although scrubbers do that to everything out of dome so that's not particularly unique.

Personally, I find the maintenance free nature of Stirling Generators to be very useful and try to power my early colony using just those especially since it basically deals with any power related emergency by opening them temporarily.
Later when you can afford scrubbers you can just leave them open for a nice increase to overall power, especially if you have Plutonium Cores.

But I'd still say they're not overpowered, just another method of powering your colony if you don't like solar or wind farms.

Fusion reactors with Eternal Fusion beat everything else in terms of land used, resources and, much more importantly, convenience.
