Endless Toxic Rain
I'm loving the new DLC but in very late game I'm having a serious problem with toxic rain. It's been raining for about 15-20 sols, non-stop. Forestation isn't working, the toxic pools are building up and there's nothing I can do to stop it. The usual countdown timer isn't showing either, leading me to think this is a bug.

Anyway, this is a glitch that's apparently been happening a lot and I think it's due to some problem with event flagging. Press CTRL-F1 and it'll open a bug report window, check the "send savegame" icon and briefly describe the problem in the text box, that way they know what to look at and can fix it in the next patch.

As for immediate solutions, I had the same issue and I fixed it by passing the "no acid rain" threshold -- 55% atmo, 55% temp, and 5% water. Be warned that due to the way the glitch works, weather events will have "queued up" while the endless rain fell; you'll likely experience a few more storms in quick succession afterwards, but past that it'll go back to normal.

Send RC Commanders out to clean up the toxic pools, they convert it to waste rock.

Once your terraforming reaches a certain point the toxic rains stop. I think it is like 40 or 50% water? maybe 60% water?
The author of this thread has indicated that this post answers the original topic.

That's awesome - perfectly captured my problem and proposed an answer. I'll give that a go, thanks.

A solution presented in another thread by the devs was to save and reload. They claim to have implemented a routine which kills any events that should have ended while loading a game.
One person said that didn't work though but it's a shorter-term thing to try.

That was the first thing I tried. Needless to say it didn't work.

Same Problem. And no Solution to solve this problem! Another problem that let this game create to an unplayable game. This is a mad situation and no helpful tips to find. Every game seems to be not tested before release. Ist is a disappointing problem and game. This problem is a known problem and no one work to solve this problem immediatelly. Sorry

Did you save and reload the save game, or save and restart the game then load the save game?

Some people forget to be more specific in their terms used.

I tryed everything. It is a senseless act. And the devs know this. If they really programmed this routine no one whould write this problem again and again. And if they test the game intensive they would eliminate those glitches or mistakes. I still have 75% atmo, 47% temp,73% water and 40% veg. And the hole time it rains more toxic than clean. It is terrible. Many hours are gone and i could not finish this game. I am very pissed off. It rains now for 5 sols in endless toxic.

even if they wrote the event killing routine on loading, it wouldnt help if the event wasnt marked as active in the first place....

bugfixing isnt always like someone running into a wall and then searcing whose fault it was....

you need to have your temperature on at least 55% then toxic rains stop. as an "event temperate" type thing. And then the endless toxic rain will end. Bug and all yes, i am having the same issue. Been have rain for many moons now. So i hope that it works with the solution posted up top.

i have had the same problem as of when the toxic rain could happen. BUT i can CONFIRM that the endless toxic rain bug, STOPS when you hit the threshold mentioned above :-)

Fair question, I didn't in fact restart the game I just saved then reloaded.
