Domes and work places - beginners question
Hello ,
Very sorry for bothering people with these beginners questions , but I played the game some 20 hours while it were on play for free weekend, and have not bought the game before now , so now there is so much that I can not remember anymore from when I played - and I would like to avoid having to start my scenario over if can.

Anyway , questions :
I have three domes , two of these have living spaces and other builsings in them, the third is empty but has mines within range. Also I have built a shuttle hub and set it to passenger transport only.
So now I can not remember , to fill work slots on a mine will it then have to be within the service area of dome to have workers or will workers use shuttles to shuttle to places that are outside the range of a dome ?
Also , if a e.g. mine has to be within the area of a dome to get workforce can I then just leave the dome that are in work place area empty and then e.g. connect the empty dome to the dome with the living space with a tunnel to get workers OR can I just get workers to the outside area of the empty dome from populated domes by placing a shuttle transport in area ?

shuttles are only for moving between domes, not for going to work. I don't believe workers from another dome will take a passage to an outside workplace at another dome?

Thank you !

Well , it appears as if my workers are doing that. They first walk from the dome where they live through a tube to the empty dome and then from there to the outside to fill positions in a metal mine/ectractor that is there.

Anyway , another question ! : Where the heck can I see a list in game over what kind of worker 'spcialication' is suitable for what workplace ? . The encyclopedia ought to tell but it does not !?!?

@FiatLux

This should help

Specializations
Citizens perform better at workplaces that match their specialization. Non-specialized colonists never receive a bonus to job performance, and all colonists receive a penalty if working the wrong type of work. Specializations also determine the colonists' interests.

Paradox didn't make the game, Haemimont Games did.
Selecting a workplace will show what spec is required (Best Workers in the desc).

Thank you for the tips .
Yes , maybe , but I were really asking to start with because I considering building some factories and I didn't know if that demanded that I had Engineers or Scientists for electronics , machineparts and polymers. And I have zero factories now so for people that do not have any of the buildings already then that doesn't help them.
But thanks to the link furbished by wabbithunta then I now know that I need engineers...
Oh, and , right it's Haemimont Games...

You mean will people in Dome A work in Dome B's outdoor facility? Yes they will, makes sorting people like idiots out of them hard sometimes.

On the other hand it is awesome if you do 6 domes around with a central dome in center. Your outdoor facilities will never be short, lol. Six barrel domes with a basic dome in the center all connected.
