During early game I'm often twiddling my thumbs & waiting for something (Single rocket to make a trip, slowly building a stockpile to fund next expansion etc) & managing the batteries was something that kept me occupied,
& I liked the challenge of can I get my rover all the way over there to explore that anomaly? do I need to use my commander to recharge it on its way back etc
Mid game onwards it was annoying, batteries with upgrade to nuclear/solar would of been better then removing it in my opinion
