Trying to get megadome to be matenance free need help

When I was building some domes, I noticed that I can use outside tribbies to make the buildings matenance free....except for one dome: The Mega Dome.

I started off with completely surrounding the dome with outside tribbies and it didn't have any effect. I then reloaded my game safe to start over and then I put a crap load of 'inside tribbies' via an inside tribby mod that I have and STILL no affect.

I then kept all the inside tribbies and surrounded the outside with tribbies again. Made sure each tribby has maxed out its radius(the above screenshot shows what I'm talking about) and I STILL have to matenance the empty dome.

Is this a glitch, or am I doing something wrong? Every other single dome design that is in the game becomes matenance free(not including buildings inside the dome) when I ONLY put outside tribbies around the outside of the dome. So what's going on here?

The tribboelectric scrubber's range needs to include the centerpoint of a target building to affect it. That's the hex that it rotates around in placement mode, by the way.
For a dome, this is its actual center, so an outside scrubber simply cannot reach it in the case of a big one. Try building the inside tribbies close to its center, and see if this helps. I have no idea how the modded ones work, though.

I literally do not believe it is possible to do what you want to do without hacking the range on tribbies. It has to be external, and it has to reach the center hex, which is an impossibility. Anything larger than IIRC a barrel dome can not be covered.

Sure you can, you just need to position the indoor triboelectric scrubber (which the OP is already using) more towards the center of the dome to cover the center hex. If using ChoGGi's "Indoor Tribby" mod note that the mod options default to cleaning only dome buildings (not the dome itself) but dome cleaning can be enabled under Mod Options.
