Nanites will also grab resources from nearby storage.
Whats nearby?
Technically the whole map.
Under the hood if you research this tech, buildings eventually build themselves and take the resources from wherever you have them. No delivery no drones no shuttles.
FYI there are several "events" related to nanites both good and bad when you research this tech.
Thanks for the info. Appreciate it. Will at least experiment so I understand a bit better. I am for better or worse playing a really hard game (also on a not very friendly place on the map) sooooooo -- outside of my comfort zone for sure. But a different way of thinking about things.
But if you are like me and you place blueprints everywhere you intended to build later when you got the resources, you can now just turn them on instead of leaving those sites off as placeholders.
Fast construct the things you need and the other stuff eventually shows up later to a nice surprise.
