Breakthroughs and the anomalies bug

I was just thinking that the anomalies bug may have also "broken" the breakthrough stream. I started a new testing game (a longish challenge) and was at about 120 sol when I stopped the other day. I had scanned the map (not deep scan) and a fair portion of the research tree was researched. In all that time I only had TWO breakthroughs.

I know some maps give out better breakthroughs than others but that isn't much for having analyzed all the anomalies that showed up. I am wondering if all those repeating "rewards" for analyzing took the place of some of the breakthroughs. That seems pretty likely from MY experience anyway.

Just throwing that into the mix.

You can run this and open every single breakthrough whether the map has it or not.

I try not to "enhance" my game experience that much (laughing) as then I lose the sense of mystery and accomplishment. But good to know it is there. Honestly after over 600 hours in it amazes me that I still find NEW breakthroughs. Assume some are hooked to sponsors or whatever but even it just completely random -- it CAN happen. I also see bits of storylines that I haven't seen before -- this nothing to do with the update or mysteries as I seldom play with mysteries) so it is fun.

I think you may be on to something here, in my new BB save I missed the "research a breakthrough" milestone for one of the only times ever, simply because I hadn't unlocked any to research by the time a rival completed one. I have quite a few now that I've scanned everything, but it still seems like less than usual. I do know I got a breakthrough from every breakthrough anomaly, but I think that means there must have been fewer than usual.

I started using this mod. I haven't noticed a difference yet in breakthroughs discovered on the surface though.

I have had the very same "rewards" for anomalies throughout those 120 years NUMEROUS times not just twice but maybe four or five times. The ones in question GIVE you something (often a choice) such as do you want 4 of this prefab or 2 of this prefab etc. Just wanted to be clear on that. Of course some folks might not have noticed if their game was of shorter duration. I finally just stopped on that game and will start over if things get fixed.
