How to "enable" Colony Design Set DLC? - (small factories)

I recently purchased the new Below & Beyond DLC. Before trying it out, I watched a YouTube video of someone else playing the DLC. I noticed in his Build menu, he had "Small Electronics Factory" and "Small Machine Parts Factory." I never knew those existed. Searching around I found they were included in the "Colony Design Set" DLC.

So I bought the Colony Design Set DLC and started a new game (Futurist, Japan sponsor.) I was playing for a little while and researched the two techs needed to build the factories. But the "small" factories still don't appear in my build menu. What gives? What do I need to "enable" or do to get that DLC content to appear? I'm also not able to import pre-fabs of those factories from Earth!

Steam shows all my DLCs as "Installed." So again - what gives? If this matters at all, I purchased the new Below & Beyond about 2 days before purchasing Colony Design Set.

My only input is that they are there for "me" WITHOUT B&B DLC.

Over on the right sidebar of YOUR home MARS page mixed in with screenshots and achievements and such there is a "manage my DLCs" where you can turn things on and off? I had to go in and make sure it knew I wanted to run the in dome pack. So see if all that you want to have on IS on.

If they aren't showing up then ---- it might be a bug with B&B. There have been many.

Sounds like a bug. You shouldn't need to do anything other than install the DLC. Other people have had similar issues. Maybe try reinstalling if verifying game files doesn't fix it.

I agree, verify file integrity and if that doesn't work then reinstall. Colony Design DLC enables small factories at the same time you'd get normal regular factories, so something's gone wrong with your installation.

ALSO it may very well depend on who you bought your DLC from and if you had to install it yourself, have the reseller install "automatically" OR bought it from STEAM and let STEAM do the integration. I have purchased all three ways with different "rules" applying to each type of purchase. It isn't an absolute thing :D.

Could you list what DLC you have for Surviving Mars? I have tried to repro the issue with no success.

@chic.aeon - All DLC was bought by myself on Steam (via the Steam launcher.) I've had my Steam account for many years. It was not purchased 3rd party, if that's what you're implying. Not even sure how to side-load a Steam application/DLC honestly.

I have ALL Surviving Mars DLC except Mars vision song contest and Mars lifestyle radio.

I uninstalled and fully re-installed the game. When I have time I'll play long enough to unlock one of the techs to build one of the factories and see if the Small factory version shows up.

UPDATE: I tried the Manage my DLC (as chic.aeon suggested in the first reply.) Unchecked DLCs. Closed the window. The game did a quick UPDATE while it was uninstalling those DLCs (presumably.) Then opened the window again and checked those DLC.

After a 10 sec pause, the game started downloading a small update. I started a new game and there they were - showed up as Pre-Fabs in my initial cargo rocket screen.

The OPs final report makes it sound as a minor bug in a Steam script somewhere for either game or DLC (I haven't the faintest idea about which since I am not familiar with the Steam Works programming)

Glad that worked. I thought that extra step was because of the third party integration but obviously not. It likely got messed up in the "update" and following patches.
