Extractor AI Bug
I just did a early on Breakthrough Extractor AI. Allows metal and rare metal extractors to run 50 with no workers. I have saved game, restarted game but still cant get them to work without workers. Is this a recent bug for anyone else?

The buildings can still operate with workers at a higher rate, so they keep showing up.

Fire the workers and close their shifts so they won't return to work. You might also need to upgrade the building, I don't remember.

I already tried opening the shifts and turning woker slots to Red, nothing happened to the extractors. Built new ones, read all over them looking for info. I think it just flat bugged out on me.

Is there an upgrade button in the upper right when you select the extractor?

Nope, But I simply restarted the game again. All the way out to desktop like last time. But when I got into my game. This time, I did the same thing. Right click each worker slot red, but leave the shift on. Presto... they are all working. Wierd tho ya?

I've had a similar problem getting the extractor to start on their own with the Extractor AI breakthrough.

Is the resource deposit still around... given the way you put it I am not surprise it ran out quickly.

Aieonae, not a clue what your talking about. Further info on this matter. When I lost power to the colony, the same thing happened to me again. It turns out, the Extractor AI actually HAS to begin with a worker trying to work at the facility and you fire them and close the worker spot. I repeat, in order to get the building working the first time, and after a power outage. I had to turn on the building. Activate the shift. Turn on the worker slots, as soon as a worker tried to work, it turned on/with AI mode. I simply fired and turned worker slots red again and resumed Extractor AI. This means, After I thought about this. It seems as intended by developers. The wanted to insure you cant start Extractor AI mode without colonists on the planet. Just that little initiation code will keep people from waiting along time with no colonists. If you think about it. All drones/ send rare metal back and continue to buy your needed resources. If you got Extractor AI as first 3 breakthrough like I did. One could manage a colony up to the point of robotic people no??? just a thought I had

Mine worked just fine with worker or not. granted I only build one extractor per resource deposit.

Run one within the reach of a dome, while the other far away from any domes(fully automated).

For me both extracters can had run fully automated without worker intervention.

Though had not restart a game off it...

The way you describe your situation does sound more like a bug like you suggested prior.

Yeah, at this time, all of the discussed Extracto types are within working distance of a dome that have had the power problem requiring a worker to start back up. Or the building simply sits on, not enough power.
