How do shuttles work?
Just asking, I built a shuttle hub near my 3 small domes and I figured they would pick up needed concrete elsewhere, they are just standing idle. Can´t see the shuttles either, the building says they are idle but I can´t click them to order them.

They won't do anything until at the very last moment that another area needs a particular item.

Lets say you need concrete to finish a building somewhere but none is available within the drones range of a concrete/all storage pad. The shuttles will then fly out and place the items.

It's a "just in time" system which isn't always "just in time".

Do they carry ressources to other locations as well? ... (not just where the shuttle station is) If electronics are needed to fix a remote drone hub, will the shuttles do that?

Yes, they will carry to any depot that needs a resource but doesn't have it.

So if you have a fuel depot across the map but no shuttle bay at that depot, the shuttles will fly fuel to the depot if fuel is required there (like if you land a rocket out there and it needs to refuel).

It makes things really simple.

As you can you see on this picture, on the left of the screen I have a universal depot but no shuttle hub near it. My shuttles loaded this depot with items as I buillt things near it.

I must have done something wrong then. I have one shuttle hub in the center of my building material 'depot.' I sent a rover out to a very remote corner of the map to drop a sensor tower, or whatever it's called. Almost 10 minutes (my time) and not one shuttle has moved - rover and drones are sitting near the sensor build site with no materials.

Now what?

Set up a universal depot next to the sensor you are trying to build

Will do.

Thanks!

Shuttles do two things:

1. Speeds up colonists migrating between domes. Basically, martian Uber.

2. They act like long-distance trucks for moving goods between distant storage shelves.

Having shuttles means you don't need complicated networks of done control towers leapfrogging materials from one depot to the next. You can literally start up a construction project anywhere with a universal depot and an RC transport, because the shuttles will deliver what you need.

That said, you do need to build additional shuttles get their upgrades when they're available. You can get them to go faster, carry more goods, and build up to 6 per hub. Economies are built from transporting goods from A to B, and that's what shuttles do.

Does it mean that colonist living in Dome A can work in Rare Metal Extractor located near Dome B, and after work come back home in Dome A? Or do I have to relocate them to one of houses inside Dome B?

No, they still need to live in a dome where they can reach. Shuttles let colonists move domes, not commute to work.

To elaborate on this : you can set the 'desired amount' on any depot and your drones and shuttles ( if it is out of reach for the drones) will refill that depot as soon as it drops below that number.
Be carefull not to set the desired amount on universal depot too high as this counts towards all resources; default is 3, I usually set it to 4. If you need more of any particular resource at some location it's best to add a resouce-specific depot there.

I think you must be talking about an upgrade... which is unlocked by researching a tech.

no the jumper shuttles

Without mods, jumper shuttle is only available if you play Paradox Interactive sponsor. You need to link your game to your Paradox account to unlock this sponsor.
https://survivingmars.paradoxwikis.com/Mission_sponsor#Summary_of_Sponsors

Some modded sponsors will give you jumper shuttles, other mods will let you access them using any sponsor.
