am i missing something for the wildfire event...it states i need to research the original strain but i dont have any options to research anything. In the mean time its hit epidemic levels and threatening extinction if i dont do something.

mcfly666 me too :) . But, my history log looks like this:

Sol 157: Our scientists have devised a complex plan to discover the cure for the Wildfire infection. It would be a monumental effort but we must prioritize the research to be able to find a solution to the growing crisis.
Sol158: Constructing new Medical buildings which gather data about the infection could speed up the progress towards discovering the Wildfire Cure.
Sol 170: The Wildfire has infected the developed countries as well. Panic and desperation are spreading through the population!
Sol 194: The Wildfire has nearly destroyed the human civilization. Scattered pockets of survivors are still dwindling in remote areas of the world.
Sol 219: Earth´s population has been obliterated by the Wildfire infection. No traces of any human activity can be detected. We could be the only humans left out there...
Sol 229: The Cure for Wildfire has been discovered! Conveniently spliced in modified molds cells, the cure can be grown on plant biomass. We have to produce it en masse!

Now i have almost Sol 1000. I sent maybe 30-50 rockets to the Earth. It is neverendy story :/ . Money are good, but... i wish to see some end :D .

Well that message means the mystery thread mechanism is not running (I look for that), so whatever happened in that game it either finished the mystery or broke the mystery, you will never get to the end of the mystery.

i just beat it finally after a few tries i would fail due to the massive death rate at the start .my final play threw was easy because i got the biorobot breakthrew right away and was able to build a ton of those pretty sure they don't get sick and helps when you can't import any people from earth because 20 of them die at the onset of the event

this quest line takes forever to advance and it's bugged at several points, growing the cure doesn't even prevent your colonists from dying en masse
dont bother playing this mode, as some said earlier, it's boring, tedious and it doesn't even work even if you tried

Just because you failed at this mystery doesn’t mean it’s broken, tedious, or boring. Nor should you discourage others based on your experience.
Get better at the game.
