Same here, Im on a laptop with an eternal mouse, sometimes my mouse drops to the floor or what have you and it moves the screen. I use the keyboard to navigate.
I was playing a bit of Grand Ages:Rome the other day and found many of the same navigation querks were present, I'm guessing they've just iterated the same engine for years.
The one that annoys me the most is the way the keyboard cursor keys change function when you press the middle mouse button. I like to be able to pan with the cursor keys whilst rotating with the mouse at the same time. The way this game/engine behaves spins me out.
If you've got 13.7 billion years to spare, your best bet is to reboot the universe, with "strict causality" checked.
