All of five seconds of looking.

Also the game is packed to the brim with tooltips, which is basically 99% of a tutorial anyone who pays attention needs.

That is a link to a "Let's Play" video from a random youtuber. So it may have only taken all of five seconds to find, but it is not what he asked for.

Nope, no tutorial. However the game is relatively easy to pick up and learn. The UI is very intuitive and everything is a maximum of 1 click away. If you check through the different buildings you can build, then you can already figure out how things are going to work. It should take maybe 30 minutes tops to figure the basics out. It's really not a complicated game. I'd say that probably everyone no matter his intelligence level can get the basics down relatively quickly, so as long as he wants to and doesn't just say "no tutorial? I'm gonna refund this crap".

There’s extensive tutorial support built into the game in my experience playing for several hours.

You will get many on screen tutorial prompts as you build your first colonies. There’s a large menu containing several dozen tips you can access from within the game as well.

Sad, people can't play a game and experience it for themselves and need to be hand held through the gaming process. The best tutorial you have right now is a youtuber, But if your life to busy to watch someone play a game and you can learn through them and their mistakes, I don't think you'll have time to play it yourself.

TL:DR Need someone to hold your hand (more than what the game does with the tips) while you play? Probably not the game for you.

Do you wanna play your first game of soccer without anyone telling you the rules?

There are several youtube tutorials. the game was given to guys like quill18 specifically to showcase the game while giving very good instructions. It was payed for by paradox so have a look.

I think static gave the best reply. If it is as he says there is no need for a manual or youtube video.

i personally think its really lame that the developer didnt built in a real tutorial. not everyone likes youtube videos or to try out a game blind.

i think they only delivered an base frame of this game and for an almost full price game its too less. no tutorial, no campaign, no real story

my best friend gave the game back, because of this and from what i read in this forum he isnt alone.

dont understand me false, i like surviving mars, but that doesnt mean i have to say yes to everything. and also when for some peeps this youtube vids are enough, i think thats the wrong way the developers are going. a cheap way to save money.

i would have prefered a campaign as ingame tutorial (as in anno 2205) instead of the easy game option surv. mars has.

Even Monopoly comes with a rule book, and that's a much simpler game to play. You can't go and RTFM if there is no FM ;P

There’s a whole menu of tutorial hints and tips. Click the HINTS button at the top of the screen.

There's a ton of ingame tooltips, an entire series of video tutorials. Manuals are for static products that don't chance - I.e. not games.

I can read faster than a 'video tutorial' can play, and games always had a manual. It's only the MTV and Millenial generation that don't seem to remember books. Games today are mostly digitally distributed, which means the constraints of a printed manual no longer apply. Patch the game and update the pdf manual at the same time.

Here's the thing - Games change. Written manuals don't. What you are looking for is a wiki if anything, and those take time to set up. Video tutorials are easy to skip along.

A written manual is almost always full of outdated or changed mechanics - I can grab any of the boxes off of my shelf and find plenty of significant changes or mistakes.
