How do I pipe in water from far away?
My first water deposit is running out and the cloest one is probably 3 drone hubs away - do I just need to build drone hubs all along a super long pipe or is there any other way to get in water from far away?

Pipes and drone hubs is the only way, yes.

Unless of course you put down Moisture Extractors (Don't overlap them, or they lose efficiency)

And you somehow have to supply metal all along the pipe as well? Manual RC transport I guess?

Have Drone Hubs overlap each other slightly, and put generic storage platforms so that both hubs can touch them. Then drones will help move goods down the line.

But yes - You can also use a Transporter and a Rover to build the hubs quickly.

if you have an RC rover you could assign it drones and have it move down the line to build it out untill you get to the end. No drones will be there to maintain it though.

surprised none mentioned a TUNNEL! its a bit costly but if u have found a very good deposit with a ton of water it might be worth spending the effort to build a tunnel. my understanding is that the tunnel wont need MX so u wont have to worry about ur pipe line in general. only downside is...it is a bit expensive.

That's why I didn't - It is a LOT costly. :)

Also drones don't move through tunnels, so you still have to manually move stuff.

Ah well, was hoping there was an easier route. Guess it's time to spend some electronics on drone hubs.

You shold also start exapnding your colony in that direction. Water pretty much determines where the coolny expands to from what I have seen.

Eh. Depends on your immediate needs. You can usually place down 4-5 extractors on the same "vein" of water. Just keep an eye on its resource count, and it will last for a long time.

However the supply of water is limited and that will empty it pretty quickly. Plus you have to have storage for all that extra water you are getting.

Depends on your needs. Water extractors won't extract unless there's demand. A 9.000 water vein will last a LONG time. Especially if you put down a few moistures as well.

And besides. If you've already reached said vein, you don't need a dome there. You need to scan another water vein ;)

This. Grab a drone rover with a few drones and a transport rover full of metal and simply walk them down the pipe, completing it as you go. No need to waste precious money and power on hubs. You will, however, have to repeat this process should it ever become damaged somewhere.

Transport + metal
Drone Rover and a few bots in it

The bots will take the resources from the back of the transport as you go along the pipe/power line
