You need to research the corresponding tech. (Until then, all salvaged buildings return part of the resources used for their construction but remain as ruins.)

i SO just want to make a comment about letting one rip and it clearing a room and with that logic going bigger would clear a whole building.. followed by my mind going "There must be a savvy tech way to do that using the air and ventelation pumps of a building".. Make that a Thing for April 1st Dev team .. call it the "I wish that I didn't eat that latenight Burrito" as a limmited time achevement for "Quickly clearing a whole building"
