First Colony Edition worth it?

I'm about to buy the game, and am wondering if the FCE is worth it or not. Please don't respond unless you've actually bought the game.

well i buyed the edition. but on principle. When i buy a game i buy the BEST kind of it. IMO its worth it. there will be a ton of DLCs and the mod community will be awesome.

Not at all, it give you a few reskin here and there that look very bad.
For example, your water tank will be chrome, but the piping connected to it will still remain white, and so the rest of the basic building. so they stand out.

the additional radio is only good on first time. after that its very repetitive.

You get a pdf and some wallapaper lol....

I bought it because of the season pass since i do not plan to spend more money on it.
But we dont know what the dlc will be, so its at your own risk.

people compare it to Cities skyline in term of dlc and content, but remember that paradox is the publisher, not the dev, Cities skylines is created by Collossal. while surviving mars by Haemimont Games. So beware.

I'd say yes, because people are overlookign one thing, the FCE comes with the season pass, which includes 2 majot and 2 minor DLCs. To buy the SP seperately is £30, so you save 33% by getting the FCE.

I didn't have the funds for more than the regular game so I'll stick with that for now but when I do, I'll purchase the deluxe pack and wait for a sale on the season pass (probably summer). Might reverse the order as I got $2.51 store credit and getting the pass for less always sounds good. Season pass by itself is $35. Without discounts, it was $25 above what the deluxe was, $30 above the base game

I think it's way too much money as a total, since this game seems (my opinion) just like a sliiiiightly better 'Planetbase' which is $20 full price.

However, the increase in price over the standard edition may be worth it. Paradox are the publishers, and they are known to release an almost comedic number of DLCs for games they have a hand in. May as well get them instantly as they come out.

Thanks for the advice all. I went ahead and bought the FCE because of the season pass, and because $20 difference really wasn't that much of a difference from the Deluxe. Still the most expensive game I've bought in a while though.

Just so you know, the pipes have a metallic/Chrome skin from the "Metropolis" building skin pack from the Digital Deluxe & First Colony editions!
