Endless filling of lakes?
So I have a fully terraformed Mars but still have to fill my vanilla lakes endlessly...?
For sure this is stupid, but is there any up-to-date mod to stop it? I already have the natural lake mod which works fine for these lakes but my vanilla lakes start emtying when cutting the water lines :(

How do you pull water out of the air, to run to lakes, to evaporate back into the air, and somehow end up with a net gain of water? Why is rain completely dissociated from surface water? Why is rain so infrequent in the first place once you get the water levels up?

Why is it stupid? Lakes whether real ones on Earth or imagined ones on Mars do tend to evaporate as part of the life cycle. A single evaporator supplies enough water to maintain them easily.

because they should fill by rain or have you ever seen big pipes filling lakes on earth?

The "big pipes" on Earth are called rivers and streams, all part of the natural water cycle that Mars doesn't have. Hence you need to find some other supply, rain is rarely enough to create any permanent body of water even here.

Well as the martian lakes dont have rivers draining the lake (unlike most earth lakes) the only water loss is evaporation, which should be compensated by rain :D

BUT we are loosing the subject. So anybody knows a mod or other hint to stop the endless lake filling?

You also have water escaping further into the ground.

There is a breakthrough tech to make the lakes autonomous, so you no longer need to provide feeder pipes.
The author of this thread has indicated that this post answers the original topic.
