At that point I typically turn my game into a city builder and make all sorts of outposts everywhere and play with strategy.
One of my games has edge to edge forest covering the whole map with neat mountaintop outposts of living space domes.
- At 30% vegetation => lichen
- At 60% vegetation => bushes
- At 90% vegetation => trees (I Suppose, currently 81%)
Rains improve the soil quality. I do every rain cloud missions and I have spot ready for trees without any forester nearby.
