Strategies for Dust Devils
Does anyone have any strategies for dealing with the dust devil? Cold waves have heaters, meteors have the laser, and dust storms are easy and have a nice side benefit if you run wind turbines. Dust devil you just get to sit back and watch repair crews struggle as the bish slowly meanders around.

Does building placement affect the path of the dust devil at all? Or the number of buildings it passes through reduce the life of the dust devil? Is there a tech-unlocked building I haven't noticed that has a side effect of dispersing dust devils, perhaps?

I figure the answer to all this is probably "no, you just have to deal with more continual breakdowns if you play with dust devils", but didn't hurt too much to ask.

I'd skip them, but it seems they go hand in hand with high elevation, and this mountainous map is superb.

Unless you want to go the mod route you guessed the correct answer.

what about the scrubber?

Not sure. Haven't researched that tech yet, but the description says it only removes dust from nearby structures.

Personally, with the dayglow colors on the machinery, I prefer the dust. As Cat would say, "Blue with marigold? Are you CRAZY?"

if you click the command centre button, there's a section for colour schemes.

FWIW, the scrubbers, as awesome as they are, don't help against dust devils in the least. They get beaten to (s)crap like everything else! :)

Praying. screaming and shouting at the screen seem to work.

Dust Devils are removed if they encounter a launchpad or tunnel entrance - even the blueprint is enough to disperse them which is obviously an exploit. But anyway you can delete dust devils by dropping a launchpad blueprint on them, and build barriers out of launchpad (blueprints, or build them if you're honest) to keep them away from your stuff.

Domes also scare away dust devils in a radius slightly smaller than their coverage (again, a blueprint is good enough), so if you use passages to connect domes and build your stuff near domes you don't have much to fear from dust devils except them clobbering your rovers when they're out and about.

Nice, Blake!

Ooo! Thats interesting. My current map seems to be plagued by dust devils and not much else so far. They keep trashing my power generators, so I'll have to try it.
++++
Just tried this in my game. Plopped a Lauchpad down in the path of a dust devil and it just dissipated. Nice trick^^
