Research Bonus - How does it work?
Just tought I'd check whether I've understood how these Research Bonus points work.

As you can see I've built a Science Dome with a Research Centre which has two of these Research Bonus points within its area. The tool tips say they provide a bonus when they are within a domes 'Radius', but I'm not sure if that means that they have to be within the footprint of the dome itself or, as shown in the screenshot, within the area around it.

The two bonus points state that they will provide +15% and +20% to my research respectively. So, my second question would be 'Do they stack?'. In other words should I be getting a 35% boost to my research and how would I know?

Bonuses stack, +15% and +20% does become +35%. In game you can't really tell except by comparing a lab in a dome with a bonus, and without a bonus. Outside of game the game source code and data can be consulted. For example a lab produces a base of 166 science/shift, modified by worker performance, modified by (research bonuses + amplification bonus), modified by collaboration losses.

Anyone know if vistas stack as well? I've never experimented and indeed have rarely found two close enough to try, but it might be cool if they did. :)

So not within the radius of the dome itself then?

Also a secondary question regarding the sidebar you mentioned. I've seen this in several video playthroughs, but I'm damned if I can work out how to make it appear in my game. As you can see in the screen shot I can't get the sidebar to appear at all.

Yes. Pretty much everything stacks. Usually additive.

Indeed. It doesn't have to be under the dome.

The sidebar is in the screenshot, but it only shows you the bonuses when you are placing a dome, not when it is already placed.

Ah! Right so its context sensitive. I obviously missed it.

I am intrigued by the "outside research buildings " mentioned in the sidebar notification when placing a dome.
