Just bought the game and stuck in tutorial...
I'm in the second tutorial: exploring... I selected the vehicle, moved it, and now I have to move it to load fuel..... nothing happens. I just do what the tutorial says and.... no move of the vehicle to load fuel!
I relaunched twice and it changed nothing. Is there anything special not mentioned by the tutorial????

Known bug??? Is the game always like this???

I just tried it, and it works. If this doesn't work for you, report it as a bug.

I quit the game to post my question here and do something personal for a while...
Now I come back, read your answer, which is what I did.... relaunch the game, and now it worked.....
Don't know what happened, or what I did wrong... maybe distracted by the task I had to do IRL.
Anyway, it's OK.
Thanks for replying. Have a good game.

I'm having this same problem, but relaunching the game did not fix the issue for me. I'm running this on Linux... is that an issue?

The symptoms of my problem are that I follow the instructions in the tutorial:

1. I left-click on the RC Transport Vehicle
2. I right-click on the Fuel Depot
3. I left-click on the Fuel icon which appears above the Depot

It's is at this point that only 0.6 units of fuel transfer into the Transport vehicle. All attempts after that only add an another small amount of fuel. At this rate it will take FOREVER to get 30 units of fuel.

Does anyone else have any suggestions of how to fix this? I don't know if it's a tutorial-only bug or if it only happens when running the game on a specific OS, or.... ?

Sorry to bring back an old and apparently answered topic, but this is still happening in the wild, so I thought I'd bring it up in case I'm missing something dumb or in case the devs want to look at it (even thought it seems like a small problem).

Cheers.

I play on Windows and know nothing about eventual Linux bugs, but I can say I never had this issue again in game.
I can just say that giving orders to vehicles was a bit hard to me because of habits got from other games, for instance right click after giving an order to free the mouse pointer (as it is in many games).... (nothing to do with above bug)... and I often found my vehicle somewhere I had never (intentionally) sent it!
I got aware of my stupid habit precisely when asking a transport vehicle to load something close to it. I noticed the vehicle started loading and immediately stopped.

Just to say, I guess it's not the cause of your problem, but who knows!

Thanks Mykepatch. I think I'm going to check to see if the bug only happens in the tutorial. If it doesn't happen in the game then I guess that's okay, but it sucks that I can't finish the tutorial because of this.

I wish there were a way to get the attention of the devs on this. Oh well. :)

I just confirmed that this only happens in the tutorial. It must be a bug in just the Steam OS/Linux version of the game as everyone else says that it works fine. That's all I can think of. So, now I'm fumbling around blindly without having been able to complete the tutorial. *shrug*

I was able to play through this tutorial on Ubuntu 18.04 with no problems. Loading the transport with fuel worked just fine for me.

Yeah, I'm running Mint 19.1 Cinnamon... maybe that's the difference. *shrug*

It's some kind of glitch with the fuel refinery. Click on the refinery and you can watch it making fuel, as soon as it gets to 1/100 it will reset to zero. The transport is getting all the fuel that happens to be in the refinery at the time you click.

The way I got past it was by being stubborn. I parked the transport next to the refinery, set time to move at 5x speed, and hovered my mouse over the refinery. It would give me the option to load fuel every time there was .5 units of fuel and I just sat there and did that until the transport was full.

It's a pain, but the only way I found to be able to move forward.

I'm having to load the fuel one click at a time it's irritating.

i can confirm this is a bug, as soon as the fuel depot reaches one unit, it is wasted, instead of going to the rover. you have to collect it by .5 increments :)

I had issues with that part of the tutorial maybe three months ago? Win10 I can't remember EXACTLY but following the instructions didn't work for me either -- so THEN anyway it was an OS issue. I also had issues selecting the drones. Just gave up, watched a YouTube tutorial -- figured it out eventually in game.

I am having this issue still in Sep 2021, using Windows10.

Just figured this out. It seems like I was having a similar issue of only be able to slowly load .5-1 unit at a time. Turns out I was loading from the from the fuel REFINERY above instead of the fuel DEPOT just below it. https://imgur.com/a/nEptoRZ
