Downloading steam workshop mods to use with GOG
Hi all,

I bought the GOG Version of the game, but I can't figure out how to download the steam workshop mods. Is there any way to do this?

greetings

I don't believe it's possible.
I know some mod authors have provided other links for people whip bought on GOG.
Thats a bummer. I hope I can return the gog version
Does the gog version even support mods? I can't seem to find any way to enable them.
Nope, the mod editor as well as the mod manager seem to be missing completely. That should have been made clear when buying the gog version.

I'm fairly certain that's not true. I recall reading on the nexus that you had to edit a mod text file and change a number to enable a mod on a gog version. You might not have access to the editor but mods should still work.
am it free to download mods no April fools jock 1st go to workshops 2nd subscribe to what mod you want 3rd restart game if opened 4th go to mod manger and it should appear

Yes it does.

And no - You're not going to be able to download mods from the Workshop without a Steam copy of the game.

I do not have the "Mod Manager" Menu entry in the main menu.

You need to have some mods installed to see it if memory serves. I've had all of my Steam created mods running on the GOG version.

I actually tried that. I tried the following directories:

/mnt/MainData/Games/SurvivingMars/game/mods
/mnt/MainData/Games/SurvivingMars/mods
/home/mydayyy/.local/share/Surviving Mars/mods

None of the mods folder existed before, I had to create all of them

Oh you're on Linux. I have no idea how/if that works. Windows here for both copies.

Thanks anyways! Man this is really really bad design. Usually the Mod Manager should show up regardless of whether mods are installed or not. And there should be a button to open the folder of the mod location. This is just really terrible ux design right here. I am basically playing guess the location here.

No arguments there. If you open the Mod Editor from within the game, and then open an example mod and save it under a new name, you might be able to provoke it to appear, and know the exact location as well.
