It's easy enough to avoid if you keep a buffer of 10+ electronics *after* you queue up something to build. For example f you're building something that needs 8 electronics it's wise to have 18 in stock. Exactly how many you need in reserve is a function of your play style and burn rate. e.g. you're not keeping enough for your playstyle. Also consider manually repairing the factory if you foresee an interruption in supply coming.
Electronics factories are, indeed, self-sustainable; your colony may not be.
If they just used machine parts instead, the whole colony would be 100% self-reliant..
I've even put both factories on highest priority, and they still broke, and I ran out >.<
That sounds like a you problem, buddy, not a game problem. Import more to get the factories up and running again.
My thoughts exactly
It's only because I started the wonder, that needed 300 electronics, tho it did only get 80, then I ran out, so I must of been low to start with, then everything else started breaking, drone hubs, shuttle hubs, and it all stopped.. lol
Oh well, I'll sort it out next livestream.. Hopefully
I'll manage, just have to have patience..
If you plan carefully and a littlebit ahead and dont have rly bad luck at the start with your position or probe. Actually all you need to be selfsustainable is 3380M Fundings. and even that is the deluxe version with all 3 rovers. 150M for the drone hub, 200M Moisture Vaporator, 200M Fuel Ref, 400M Machinepart Factory, 600M Electronics Factory. the rovers 300M for the RC Rover, 400M for the RC Explorer, 200M RC Transporter. in my example i put 5 extra drones in my rockets so 150M for drones (as i said deluxe version). 210M for 15 poly (doable with 10 or even less, lesser then 10 depends on luck) 270M for 15 Machine Parts, 200M for 10 Electronics and last but not least 100M for the probe. Selfsustainable after the 2nd basic or first med dome. Done it without mods on nearly every sponsor except IMM and Europe cuz its boring.
I dont wanna say "thats the way to go" or something i just want to show up that there is rly no challange in "be independend from earth" heck thats eazy as ♥♥♥♥ 12 founders more then enough.
Oh and till you get the Tribos (USE THEM!). Dont build things you cant pay the upkeep. I.e. Wind turbines. They cost Machine parts AND you pay .5 parts maintenance. if you dont have an elevation bonus from at least 25-35% or the breakthrough. think twice about them. to less energy for the costs in early and in late without the right conditions useless. hmm building a battery? Costs poly to build and mainten. AND NEVER EVER build close to extractors, 5 or 6 Hex not sure about the range. or your mainten will explode.
And least but not least. Watch out for idiots. these guys are a plague. even the allmighty Tribos cant handle them :P.
EDIT: I forgot to mention. Dont build buildings before you NEED them. IE the first dronehub. costs electronics maintenance. Even water tanks or air tanks dont build them till you need them, or at least starting to need them :P
and tbf a littlebit of luck is always involved. Mainly the breakthroughs and a little bit the order of your researches
