There will be consequences to whatever you do. Whether you consider a given outcome "failure" or not depends on you.
think about it... if earth dies you won't get new colonists if worst comes to worst.
except you are lucky and have bio-bots and clone vets...
but with bio-bots and clone vets xD (and some other intressing breakthroughs during that run).
except YOU send actively a group of your Martians back to Earth to recolonize it.
(some way to get rid of all my "excess" workers and seniors)
well, i refused to send any suppplies back to earth, but i did take the refugees and didnt let them die in space, earth had its ww3 nukefest, humanity destroyed itself, i lost contact with earth for a few sol weeks, so i was hoping i was the last bastion of humankind in the galaxy as we know it..... but earth has "woken up" and made contact with me again so now i can trade with the survivors of the holocaust... not sure if thats good or not, and my mission log hasnt gone away yet, that was about 6 to 9 sol weeks ago so im not sure if im done with it or not or if its just bugged currently
You should be able to dismiss the notification with the mission log.
