The earth has a magnetic field which prevents that.
You can see the effect on earth up north, the aurora borealis is redirected solar wind.
TBH, all that's needed is to convert the counter for "number of magnetic shields" into a counter for loss prevention from magnetic shields, since that's what people are looking for.
I got Atmosphere to 100% with just 2 carbonate processors and 2 magnetic generators.
If it is 0.1% for you, then it can easily get rounded to no visible change at all. In which case the project still needs a buff though.
For reasons of reorganizing everything and because I was at 100% already I didn't think the 100% would go back down, but it did. When I noticed, I had 1 Carbonate processor, 4 magnetic field generators and the same 3 magnetic shields. This means we can't less than a number of buildings for this or the atmosphere will go back down?
I also noticed that when you hover over the "cloud" percentage, it shows:
From carbonate processors ## % per sol
Loss of atmosphere ## % per sol
Magnetic Shields ##
To always have atmosphere in 100% would I need to have Loss of atmosphere at 0% or the higher the better?
Also it should at least tell me by minuscule it be the amount of atmosphere produced by carb processor but it always shows 0% no matter how many I have.
did the following experiment:
brought atmo to 100% using buildings only, no shields.
turned off all magnetic building, checked the loss %
turned everything back on, restored atmo to 100%
then deployed 4 shields.
turned of again the magnetics, loss was spot on the same.
so it's either broken or the gain is so abysmal taht it can't be mesured
Wow way to sound like a know-it-all douchebag without actually answering the question, which was clearly about the game.
You knew ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ well what he asked, but you just had to demonstrate your 6th grade geology knowledge, huh?
