Perhaps there are too many colonists competing to use the same comfort buildings so some specific needs are routinely left unmet, despite having lots of comfort buildings.
If you fix the issues causing the comfort issues before the next rocket leaves (or hold the rocket launches) then they will revert back to a colonist without Earthsickness. There is even an achievement for having 10 colonists doing this.
This is just stupid the way that went down.
That sounds very odd. Nothing like that has occurred in my recent games.
Could a mod be the cause, maybe? Do you have disasters maxed?
Actually I can tell you they did not break the game regarding Earthsickness.
The only reason anyone gets Earthsick is due to a lack of comfort. A simple examination of the colonists will tell you exactly how they took so many comfort penalties.
To have all your colonists want to leave within 5 sols of landing means you did something horribly wrong.
The fact they all died a few sols later has nothing to do with Earthsickness. Lack of comfort will not kill a colonist. However obviously your colonists died to one of the following causes (hypothermia, dehydration, stavation, suffocation, and probably suicide.)
I used the same setup I have used a dozen times before, at least 10 of the times resulting in children being born in founder stage resulting in positive evaluation. The only things they could not do were drink and gamble. This shouldn't have mattered because they were founders and none had any flaws. There was over 100 surplus of food as well.
Eight of them got earth sick by the second sol they were there, the other 4 the sol after.
I admit I was cutting it close on machine parts but if they had only kept working. As it was no one made any machine parts to repair things so I ran out of power water and O2.
So basically the entire colony was so earth sick that they rather sat there and suffocate rather than make machine parts. So yes I feel the earth sickness is broken.
Colonists just do not get Earthsickness magically. To become Earthsick in 2 sols mean they were homeless, not providing the other comforts takes much longer than 2 sols to deplete all their comfort.
I am guessing you ran out of machine parts to provide power and your homes lost power and they became homeless.
If you can not provide drinking or gambling in a dome colonists with those traits are going to easily fall into the low comfort.
@#$% happens, chalk it up as a learning lesson and move on. You definitely aint the first or last that ran out of machine parts and had a colony fail.
I really don't want to argue this any more. I am unsubbing.
