Seeds
Is there a trick to getting drones to move them? They just sit next to my farm, never picked up, machines that need them stop and wait. Drones pick up the food from the farms, just not the seeds.

Make seed depots to put them in.

I have one right next to the farms.

Can always just use an RC transport and move them yourself. I do agree though, it seems like drones dont move seeds to new drone hub zones as there is no seed storage in the universal depot. The only time they get moved around the map for me is when I have shuttles going.

What kbmodigity said. The game does a terrible job of moving resources/colonists around until you get shuttles, which is why gating them behind a potentially very late tech is IMO extremely frustrating and stupid. Basically, don't expect to be able to have a smoothly functioning colony outside the range of 1 or 2 combined drone hubs until you have shuttles.

Shuttles are always the 10th tech in the Robotics tree unless you use one of the game rules that randomize the tech placement.

I have shuttles, but my farm is inside a dome. It finishes growing the seeds, then they sit there in the farm storage forever. I have to manually move them with drones to a depot outside the dome, then the shuttles take them where they need to go.

Is the seed depot in the range of the drone controller? They should be putting seeds there. You may need more drones in that area.

Also don't make seeds in Farms, make them in Hydro Farms.
Or use them to mine more rare metals and buy them.

How do you use seeds in mines to get rare metals?

Use the botanists to dig up rare metals instead of growing seeds, sell them, and buy seeds. Seed production in farms/hydros is so atrocious that that will get you more seeds than actually growing them.

I just ignore seed production entirely until the conditions are right for grass/bushes. Aside from some startup seeds that can be easily imported, a single or pair of foresters will become the primary seed producers for a colony. Hydro/Farm seed production is a trap.

The only thing that matters is temperature, water, and localized fertility. Without those, seeds are a production sink.
