Uneven terrain even tho its the evenest possible
Is there a way to fix this? I have flattened the same area like 50 times, its flat but it says uneven terrain. It only happens in certain specific spots

Hover a small dome project over the area. Don’t build it just hover it and cancel. The blueprints will indicate the spots you missed by showing what’s not even.

obviosly it does "uneven terrain". you have to flatten the area again. Sadly this can be sometimes a bit tedios.

i flattened the area literallly over 100 times already. that area and its surroundings. in fact i have flattened all around the map and no problem, its just that specific area. i even have the mod that shows you where you cannot build, and its all green.
This is a common problem. Take a small building or dome in your hand and look which area is unbuildable. The unflat area is sometimes so flat that it gets automaticly fixed when giving the flattening command. You just had to retry it again.
Hint: You can change flattening tool size by middle mouse button.

Try using the blueprint technique I specified above. If you need a smaller palate then use a waste rock dump large or small. Hover it over the area slowly and note where the non buildable area is.
You can also use ChoGGis mod above as a visual aid.

Oh yep, it's 1 point height difference :)

GetBuildableZ(37,185)
GetBuildableZ(36,185)

Those are a bit more than one point, but it's what the construction controller uses to test with (my mod just checks each square as is

I updated the func to check directly adjacent hexes, but only on git (till I update my lib mod on steam).

Edit: for now you can flatten from above that line, that should make it fall in line with the rest of the area?

My lib mod has been updated so you should be able to see them now as well.

I have to say this is the MOST TEDIOUS BROKEN UNFUN part of the game. It's fine if you had to go tell the droids to do something - paint, yadda yadda... but then after you build a dome and can't connect to another dome because "uneven terrain". My god - the game just became cruel and stupid.

Okay - I am not certain this is the MOST -- but it is unquestionably TEDIOUS, BROKEN and UNFUN. I cannot imagine a developer making it this painful on purpose. "Yeah, we meant to make your life miserable playing this - it's by design." Unbelievable.

I'll try it thanks! I didn't see it marked as the solution so I wasn't clear that this had a solution.

Oh... but it doesn't really fix it does it? Just makes it more obvious why the game is so stubborn.

The real solution is the devs changing it so a height difference of 1 is ignored ;)

Yeah well if they would have wanted to do that it would have been done by now.

Yet nothing was done.

Now I spend time flattening a huge area, then expanding that same flat area just to avoid the stupid barely uneven issue.
