all terraforming buildings are manless.
edit: OHH, no, I was thinking it was this one:

Which is wonders not terraforming buildings. My bad.
edit: edit: Meh, same difference. They all should require workers. Damn robots taking our jobs. And I'd suggest engineers for artificial sun and security officers for the space elevator, because frankly there's like basically nothing that uses security officers.
Lakes and forestation plants probably should remain unmanned, simply because you often aren't going to want to place them in range of a dome. If we ever get a global version of the forestation plant, that could be manned by biologist.

I've thought about this quite a bit.
Well actually it was more like a few minutes but I swear! both my processors were fully committed for those few minutes.
And what I came up was it should either be all or nothing.
I agree that all buildings should be staffed. They are on Earth, unless they are a simple power transformer or something. On the other hand, wouldn't that be better to fully unhumaned terraform Mars before the first colonist, to avoid inconvenience? Such as accidentally getting spaced. Or spaced cause your old.
But on the other hand, that would be a stupid game. Named Awakening Mars.
So, I think the enjoyment of the game comes from the chaos and the casualties of getting the meat bags involved. So then I think it should be everything requires humans please. I would use that mod.
