Basically, you run Cheat Engine, then have it search for a number (double is the type), like for money or metal. It will provide a bunch of locations. Then in game, hit next turn and your money/metal will change and then you search again in cheat engine and it will scan those same locations for the new value. And one of htem will be it, you just change that and boom, you have more money/metal/etc.
To enable the Developer Options menu: Inside your root Stars in Shadow directory (the same one that contains sis.exe) create a file called 'show_hidden_options.bool' (the contents don't matter). Then launch sis.exe. Open up the options pane, and click on the title text that says "Options". The pane should switch modes, and display "Developer Options".
One suggestion I have is if you could please alter the cheat to be a bit more game-friendly. When 'cheat' is pressed, it gives you an incredible amount of money and metals and tech, but it gives far too much. It would be much better if the cheat only gave, say, $100 and 100 metal at a time with each press, for example, so it gives you a little boost in the game instead of instantly making you a god.
And since there is a seperate single-tech cheat option already, it would be much better if the money 'cheat' button did not give any extra tech at all. Giving only one tech with each press of the tech cheat is far better than giving so very much all at once, and it's better if the tech cheat is entirely seperate from the money cheat.
The cheat buttons giving just a little bit of help at a time with each press would make the game much more fun for players who sometimes enjoy playing in a more casual way.
Thanks again,
Darren
The cheats and other features in the Developer Options menu are developer tools, and so not really designed to be used by players.
Having options always make a game more fun, and I'm sure many other players also enjoy having a cheat option in games, so if you want the players to have the most fun with what you've created, you may want to consider making the cheat option a little more game-friendly, like how I mentioned earlier.
Even if it was originally just a developer's tool, the cheat option is also really good for the player, too, so thank you again for helping me set it up. I'm really enjoying your game a lot.

I've been playing your game for a few days now and I'm really enjoying it a lot.
One thing I've noticed while playing, however, is the trading system between 2 empires seems to need a little work. I'm sure this is something you're aware of already.
Not only would it be better to be able to trade more items (ie. tech, ships), but when trading an actual planet to another empire, it's like the other side doesn't even care about it. I tried trading a planet to another empire and they wouldn't even give me 25 gold or metal for it, they only took it if it was offered for nothing.
Hope mentioning all this helps somewhat. I'd love to see the trading system updated and expanded.

Make sure the file name is correct (no hidden extension!)
It doesn't work for me. Win7/64
