Still life won't run on Windows 7 ultimate

I have been trying to get it to open on my computer all that happens when I try to play it is that it says that I am playing it for like 3-5 minutes or so. So I have to close it manually in task manager. (I find it odd tho that Post mortem and still life 2 work) I have tried all the different system running things in prefences. I also tried the vista patch which also didn't work. Also I did contact Microïds and haven't had an answer for almost 3 weeks. Even tho they told me in an e-mail that I would get a response in atleast 48 hours when I sent a support ticket. I just want to play this game. But I can't seem to find anything to fix it for the steam version , the only things I can find are fixes for the GOG version which I tried even tho I kinda hoped it would work also kinda felt like it wouldn't work. Anyways is there anything I can do to get it to work or should I try to return it?

did you try compatiblity mode with win xp?

I did try that , I tried all compatiblity modes.

did you try admin privileges just in case? also try disabling anti virus if you have any

I disabled anti virus just now to see if it would work but still hasn't worked , I allow it to run as administrator but I don't know if that does anything. I tried to see if the still life exe would do anything but I only see a black screen. I don't kow whats going on.
