Game isn't launching.

I keep trying to launch but a small black window appears for a moment and then the game stops. I'm playing on windows 8 64bit.Could i get some help?

Try running in compatibility mode for XP and/or reducing your screen resolution (also, disable gui text scaling if applicable to your set up).

How do i do that? It doesn't even open up the menu screen.Is there some other way?

Actualy scratch that,i did it and it still doesn't work.I tried re downloading but didn't do anything same stuff.

You can Absolutly say that Win 8 is a complete ♥♥♥♥ OS especially in running fairly old games, try to install certin old Graphics drivers for your GPU, or simply get windows 7

Sir and or madam,i can survive until a compatibility update comes out for this game what i cannot survive though is slow speed on my computer.

it's Sir :) , and i wouldn't be so hopeful about it this game is from 2008 if you haven't noticed, and the game is perfectly launching and playing well for most people ( Windows 7-Xp-Vista ...etc but Win8 users )

BTW windows 7 does not slow up your computer, it's heavy ? sure it's , but it's still a lot better than Win 8, what's your specs ?

Yeah you won't get any updates from the makers anytime soon, the game is made to run at a 4:3 resolution by default, you can try changing the resolution to match what you are running at by altering the config file but don't get your hopes up, I'm reinstalling the game for the first time in 2 years hoping maybe a small update came out that will put me in the category of Window's 7 users that it's working for.

Well,i guess i'll have to play it on my old laptop which is held together by duct tape.It also runs vista so...

I think i'll simply do a format and then start playing.Thanks anyway.If anyone finds a solution don't hesitate to comment.

how to launch on Windows 7:
1. In folder C:\Users\*user_name*\AppData\Roaming\ create new folder Nucleosys.
2. Inside created folder (Nucleosys) create new folder Scratches Director's Cut.
3. Inside created folder (Scratches Director's Cut) copy file scream.cfg, from *Folder_client_Steam*\SteamApps\Common\Scratches.
4. If you made all right game will launch.
5. Have fun!
