- Kate Walker and Oscar's 'triumph'. Wow, I did all that only to see them lose in the end?!?
- The 'bad guys' never got punished. Totally out of place in a game like this.
- We never learned WHY the soldiers wanted Kate Walker.
- Efimova's indoctrination of Kurk was never used. Wasted plot twist oppurtunity.
- The Youkols have no way back to their home land. Happy ending indeed.
- And to complete the picture, the credits had no music.
Kind of fits the whole game though: unfinished, uninteresting and going nowhere. Bleh.
Fanfiction anyone? or graphic novel??
Here it is if you're curious: http://archiveofourown.org/works/8199169/chapters/18783352
Syberia has such a small fanbase, we will have to wait for a bit for creative people to end the game so we can have new fanfictions ^^
Sad to see this happen to a Syberia title.
1 it's a cliffhanger for a 4 but you should only do it if you are 100% sure there will be one (without the mouse glitch please)
2 well as for the first one they will probably be in the 4
3 diplomatic raisons to give her back to the us
4 probably a plot in the 4 or she just failed or the thing kate said saved him or the potion
5 also the 4
In Syberia 1 you reach your goal to find Hans Voralberg and get rewarded by the opportunity to leave your honest life as a lawyer behind.
In Syberia 2 you reach your goal too which is to fulfill Hans childhood dream to meet the mammoths on the mysterious island of Syberia, and get rewarded not only by happy looks but by definitely having left your haunters behind, the detective and the ivory hunters.
In Syberia 3 you might have reached your goal to lead the youkol and their ostrichs to the sacred lands, but get punished for all your self-abandonment in one of the worst ways possible: by getting caught by your haunters with a chance to be brought back to hospital and get tortured there. That's an absolutely unsatisfying ending.
PS4 version was a mess…
The gameplay wasn't as easy as I and II, meaning, I found the controls to be meh. It was jerky and temperamental at times. Also, can we talk about the storyline? 13 years between releases, and that's all we get?!?! I don't even mean just the ending, but the whole darn thing. At first, I was like, I am not going to bash on the poor reviews I read on the game, because I haven't finished it yet, and I was hoping it would tie things up nicely. Nope. Just nope. Disjointed plot, no real reason why characters are the bad or good guys, they're just there.
I have the World Before, but I need a break after that game. I can't with it.
Edit: 13 years between releases, and it took another 6 years for me to have the time to play it, so 19 years in the waiting, and that's all we get. Thanks for letting me vent.
