game freezes

In the tunnels when we have to clear them of bats, I find a youkol and he gives me a root then the game freezes on kate's face as he runs away..although game still is making all the game sounds it is still frozen on her..If no one can help I would like a refund..

I have exactly the same problem, and I see it has been reported in French as well. Is there a way to fix this? It is not fair to sell a game that cannot be completed, so if there is no fix I will apply for a refund.

i as well have the same problem!!! iv posted & replied to another post that expressed this issue. iv tried 3 different setting (beautiful,pretty,etc) & did all three in window format....nothing. i dont want a refund i love the game & have waiting so long. i went as far (w/out the funds lol) & purchase brand new computer & then discovered needed a game pad, which sucks i enjoy deeply point n click. iv now had to stop playin game goin on 1 week goin on 2. sad

The same problem occurs on my notebook. I was happy, that after the last patches the game finally runs on my notebook and I reached exact the point where a root was given to me in the sudway tunnel. Even after reloading several times this point I am not able to move. Only showing the actual aim and using ESC is working. Who can help me ???

SimonaTF3 came up with a solution that worked for me. During the cut scene with the Youkol and the root, open and close the menu several times. I think there is something happening in the background that has to finish before the cut scene does.

Yes, after using ESC to open and close the menu a few times I could finally move away from this scene. Thank you for this advice !

I don't know who figures out how to get past these bugs, but I greatly appreciate it. Using ESC to open and close the menu worked for me as well. These bugs are pretty frustrating.

i stucked while picking the root too, and opening menu by ESC doesn't work , suffered alot and waited patiently all these slow moving game

for me ESC doesn't work too. but someetimes I manage to pass it choosing "no thanks" answer. it worked tooday.

I can confirm, that the ESC didn't work for me, but the 'No, thanks' reply option.

Impossible de jouer; dès les 1ères paroles de Kate, l'image se bloque sur son visage, alors que le Youkol continue de parler. Aucune possibilité, ESC ne marche pas, rien. J'ai recommencé plusieurs fois, même problème à chaque fois!

I HAVE THE SOLUTION! I came across the exact same problem. Changing settings/resolution/screen mode/the way of approaching the Youkol/the way of answering him etc DIDN'T HELP. Also I couldn't pause the game during the dialogue.

I searched the whole internet in order to find the closest save to this scene that is compatible with the latest patch. I found it on a russian forum and it helped me. So basically you pick up the log, then all the other stuff to make a torch. Then Kate realizes that the vent is closed and the bats can't get out. So she asks Oscar to go outside and open the vent since he's immune to radiation. That's when the game starts for you if you use the save in question. It's not exactly after you pick up the log but not so far from this action either. You can watch a walkthrough on YouTube to see what you missed.

You can find your folder here: C: \ Users \ * Windows profile * \ AppData \ LocalLow \ Microids \ Syberia3

If you can't see AppData there it means it's hidden and you just need to make the folder visible (click view and tick invisible folders). Copy the file from the zip and paste it in your folder previously removing your current save file. Keep your save file somewhere else just in case something goes wrong and you want your save back.

Load the new save and you will control Oscar. The objective is to open the vent as I said before. Enjoy.
