Overall I'd say stay away, especially if you're a fan of previous games.
having updated graphics etc for this game found this to be an enormous letdown and just about given up (also crashes on exit shutdown every time (QuitGame)
anyone know how to get past this or patches etc even had different noted game players attempt this without success so it appears to be a total waste of money
I still can play it on Big Fish (although they robbed me from the third part, I just noticed).
Question: is the this Syberia on steam just a grahphical update or is there more to explore?
The Syberia on Bigfish was the first Syberia, divided in three parts. Syberia 2 and 3 continue the storyline of the first Syberia.
I agree the voice acting was horrendous. To me Kate Walker, even though she had the same English voice actor, sounded very different. That itself isn't bad, but the other characters were awful. The non-existent lip sync made it worse.
However, truth be told, you can easily make the voice acting much much better. As an experiment I changed the voices to French. Sure enough the voices fit much better. Lip sync was also mostly spot-on. I wouldn't have minded reading subs if anything interesting was being said.
Also I had noticed a few instances of characters talking without moving their mouths. Changing languages of course won't fix broken animations.
