Best Language to Play Through Syberia 3
One of the English voice actors in this game is JUST, NOT, TRYING! Every time he speaks it breaks the immersion and he voices some scenes that are obviously meant to have emotional weight. I never have qualms about watching foriegn movies with subtitles so I'm wondering if anyone can recommend which language has the best voice acting. I've just switched to French so I'll report on how that goes, but I would love to hear other experiences.

I was wonder if I'm suposed to actually hear them speaking. All I get is english subtitles to read as i watch their mouths move. Was there some sound or lauguage setting I was suppose to do? I never got prompted for one. Guess I will have to see if I can turn on the talking sound part.

I don't see any option that disables language. However voice does have it's own volume slider in the options. At the Main Menu if you go to Options and go to Audio Options you should see the slider for voices. Oddly enough the language selection is under Options>Game instead.

If fiddling with either of those doesn't fix the issue for you, you may want to verify the integrity of your game files through Steam by right clicking Syberia 3 then selecting Properties. Once there click the tab Local Files and click the button for Verify Integrity of Game Files....

I know this is a bit of a necro, but I definitely recommend going with the "original" French dialogue (with subtitles if needed). The developers are French and the lip sync was clearly animated to go along with the French dialogue. The voice acting in general is also much better.

Unfortunately, while the localization was obviously pretty lazy overall - they did seem to make a lame attempt to 'fix' the lip sync for some specific dialogue that obviously didn't line up as well with the English lines. But I'd say it looks quite good 95% of the time with French. (They didn't make any effort to change it for the vast majority of the dialogue.)

I haven't made it through the game yet but even the subtitles have some real room for improvement apparently. I've seen several comments that they use the French term 'bridge' to mean the deck of the ship but translate it directly as 'bridge' which is confusing in most other languages.
