Ice Breakers--Engine room

I am standing at a panel looking at enormous cogs and the ice breaking mechanism- i have manipulated everything on the panel....nothing is happening...what am i doing wrong?

Its kinda tricky. You have to use the wheel in the top right first to connect the engine. Then start the engine with the button on the lower right. Use the lever to lower the ice breaker. Now you have to switch to third gear, then as fast as you can to second gear, befor the engine dies. Your goal is to switch gears and keep the arrow in the green area.

lever point not active so nothing happen :)

go to the right ....... you will see a switch....it is now active ... not active before

Thanks. This one is ridiculous with a mouse. Dunno if it's better with a controller.

Yes, with controller it's faster. I think it's almost impossible with a mouse

Very disappointing and frustrating part of the game!
Can't you guys programmers do better?

I wasted few hours to do it, and was frustrated too, but when I find out the key (sequence) it's not a problem any more, even with my dumb mouse.

Got down there and there is no response from the red button. The pipe is in as far as it will go. The game I got all three versions and have played through the first two and now on this one. The story is good, but game development about as sloppy as it can be, Very little player control and NO player save. It doesn't appear that the button is going to work and so I guess there is no other way to start it. Hate to go this far and not be able to continue. I have backed off the pipe and then brought it in several times. Bad enough I lose my cursor at times. and takes a while before it reappears. Game probably needs to be optimized a bit more for the newer configurations.

How can you do this WITHOUT the red button, which doesn't work? The Pipe is in as far as it will go and the Red button does nothing. Have tried to move the Thing in the middle, but it isn't even active. The gear shift does absolutely nothing. The only thing that works is bring the pipe in. Good story and crap game design.

you close the game down and never play it again-- best solution I found

Were you able to do it with a mouse? I'm VERY close to giving up and never playing it again

I managed to complete the game to a very unsatisfying ending, one that made me wounder why I put so much time into playing the whole thing from start to finish ( All 3 parts ).
