Pass Stamp Clue Please

I posted on an other forum about this but that seems to have taken another direction.
I'm wondering if I've glitched something.
I have gone slowly around inspecting each 'activation dot'. I came to this point earlier today and have been wandering aimlessly on and off since...

Sponge...must need ink or solvent (to get residual).
Imprinted leather backing...must need to use as template.
Candles...hmm how do I melt these to make imprint from template.
Squid...I soaked the sponge then put it back in the press.
...somebody posted to give leather to blacksmith but I have no Inventory Icon on his activator.
...plenty of heating devices but none none with said activators and no containers - unless I've missed these.
I hate to admit defeat but I'm making no progress.
Somebody is posting a walkthrough but I really don't want that.
If somebody would please give me a clue I'd appreciate it.

Give candles to blacksmith.

if you give the leather from the stamp machine to the blacksmith he asks you to give him wax (candles).

Thanks for the response, I appreciate the hints.
The problem is that I am not getting an Inventory Icon on the Blacksmith Reticle, as can be seen here...

talk to the apple selling guy first, the "human" guy with a fur hat. He will give you his wife's pass, then you can give the things to the smith.

just as Vinnie said. You need to walk the market around. In on niche (towards the center) there will be a man checking apples or paprika. You need to talk to him and you'll get a paper pass. When you look up from the spot, you should be able to see a blacksmith stand. Just to give you a hint where this man is located. After that the interaction with blackmisth unlocks.

I have the same thing, but even blank pass doesnt unlock interaction with the smith. I already have leather, inked sponge, candles and blank. But I can only hear repetative phrases from this annoying smith and no any way to give him something...

Maybe try talk to the artisan, but first look at squid's statue. Kate will ask him about the key. I think it unlocks interaction with the smith.

Nope:( Already spoke to artisan, all dialog options. But still no option to interact with smith. This bustard keeps talking several phrases.. It seems that something broken in this game and I need to start over from the beginning. Or remove this glitchy game. Disappointed, I waited for this game quite long...

Did he tell you about the smith and the key? Did you talk to Ayawaska? Generally you shoul talk to 1. Ayawaska, 2. the customer with the pass, 3. the guard, 4. the artisan, 5. the smith. Did you look at his smithy? And did you observe the leather and the stamp mark on it (best before talk to artisan, I think)?

ok. I played once again and did these: talko to artisan, guard, took the sponge and a piece of leather, talk to Ayawaska and the customer with the pass. I went to the smith and have no problem - he asked what Kate need etc. I gave him the leather and candles (during the conversation), after few seconds I had stamp in my inventory. Mayby you didn't talk to all guys about every subject. if you did I have no idea why it doesn't work in your game. sorry I can't help

I am having the same problem and have tried everything suggested. After dozens of attempts I cannot give the leather pad to the blacksmith. With only one saved game, I cannot retry after escaping the hospital, and am not willing to replay game from beginning. Very sad to encounter this buggy situation.
Does anyone have a saved game file just after getting the stamp?

I have the same bug problem, cant give the stamp parts and candle to the smith.

Fix: I closed the game and open it again. It was saved from the squid part I took the inked sponge from. My actions now were : observe the candles in my invertory, talk again to the policeman outside the cabin and hand him the stamp part which ofcource he didnt take but made a comment about it. So then I entered the tent and talk again to the Smith. This time I was able to give him the lstamp part and candles BUT as you are in a convo with him you should find the spot on the monitor to enable the option to give him the things, one spot is near his belly and the other one right next to him (point your cursor to these points) . Good luck

After a lot of searching this helped me and so maybe future people looking for a way around this bug:

-- There is another post that addresses this easy to encounter glitch in the game. By putting my 'stamp part' inventory item back where i found it in the police cabin, closing the clamps, and opening them to pick it up again worked like a charm. Happy Gaming! --
