UE4 Fatal Error on game startup

I just bought the game and haven't been able to run it once. Every time I try to start the game it shows the Ruiner spash screen then immediately pops up a UE4 Fatal Error dialog box. I tried verifying the game files through Steam, updating to the latest Nvidia driver, running the UE4 setup from the game files folder in Adminstrator mode, restarted my pc, but nothing has worked. I searched through the Steam forums and did some Googling, but somehow seemingly no one has encountered this issue. Does anyone have any ideas? I don't want to have to get a refund for this game but obviously I'll have to if I can't run the damn thing.

edit: There's no message or details in the UE4 error dialog. The title simply says, "The UE4-Ruiner Game has crashed and will close". The message says, "Fatal error!".

System specs:
Windows 7 Ultimate
EVGA GeForce GTX 1080 FTW ACX 3.0
Intel i7 2600
ASRock Z77 Extreme4

Tried installing the 1.0 vanilla version and I still get the UE4 Fatal Error on startup.

I realized I didn't have Microsoft Visual C++ 2015 installed. I had the 2017 version installed. I couldn't run the redist exe's with a newer version installed so I uninstalled the 2017 version and ran the 2015 installers located at "..\steamapps\common\RUINER\_CommonRedist\vcredist\2015", but I still get the fatal error.

Can you please post your UE4 crashlog. Normally it is located at:

C:\Program Files\Unreal Engine\4.0\Engine\Programs\CrashReportClient\Saved

Could you send us a crash dump file?
The location is:
C:\Users\xxx\AppData\Local\Ruiner\Saved\Crashes\[some numbers]

Just purchased and ran into this issue immediately after installation.

I sent their customer support a crash dump but never heard back. I ended up getting a refund.

Sorry to hear that. It's been really busy in Reikon these past few days.
Nonetheless, we still have looking into that crash on our list so that it won't happen again to other players once we fix it.

I had a short speak with a support team member. He didn't give me nether reathon nor solution for the problem.
Made a refund about half a day ago

Fixed it, had to uninstall and reinstall the game. Still crashes after the first boss, had to update my GPU drivers and the problem is gone. Advice for anyone still experiencing this issue.
